Enabling Relational Tables

Question

How do I allow my realm to use Relational Data?

Answer

Relational DB is enabled at the realm level, and accessible to enable only by Super Users and users with the Employee Flag enabled.

A Realm must first be created and assigned to its own database shard before the option to enable Relational DB is available.

To enable Relational DB:

  1. Go to CUSTOMER CENTER > REALM MANAGEMENT > EDIT REALM.
  2. In the edit options, select the check box EDIT STORAGE OPTION.
  3. By default the table depth (number of tables from the subscriber table) will be set to 2 and number of columns (per table) will be 30. If the realm requires more, check with DevOps before editing.
  4. Click CREATE.

To VERIFY Relational DB has been enabled:

An easy way to verify if Relational DB has been enabled:

  1. SUBSCRIBERS > RELATIONAL TABLES

If Relational DB has not been enabled, the Relational Tables tool will not be available in the dropdown menu.
