OEM Accounts

To apply OEM settings:

  1. Go to Customer Care > Account Management > Edit Account.
  2. In the Client Notification Email field, enter an OEM branded custom email address.
  3. In the OEM Features section, enable the option Customer Is OEM. When users login to an OEM version of the site, Users will see the customized OEM options.
  4. Set the Login URL, a fully qualified custom URL to access the system, e.g. https://oem.mydomain.com. OEM users must use to login in order to see the custom OEM images and features.
    The Login URL requires the customer to work with DevOps to define the correct DNS resolution.  The URL must not WhatCounts specific domain details: secure.whatcounts, api.whatcounts or www.whatcounts.
  5. Define the OEM images:
    • Login Page, Small Image URL: URL to the small logo image displayed on the Login page above the required Login fields. The image will resize to display at height of 70 pixels.
    • Login Page, Left Side Image URL: URL to the large image displayed on the Login page to the left of the Login fields. The image will resize to the height of the browser space.
    • Header Image URL: URL to the small header image displayed in the upper, left-hand corner of the site after login. The image will resize to display at height of 40 pixels.
  6. Click UPDATE at the bottom of the page to save the settings.  

Image URLs

If the customer chooses to use a secure URL (one that begins with https), they must also use secure URLs for their custom images.

OEM Images

Images will be scaled down, or up, to fit the allocated space on the page. The small login page image is scaled to to a height of 70 pixels, and the header image is scaled to a max of 40 pixels. It’s fine for the selected images to be larger than the measurements above, however it may take some testing to make sure that they look correct when scaled.

The left side login page image will also take experimentation since its size varies based upon the size of the display being used the access the page. It is also responsive, so it will also be resized if the user increases/decreases the size of their browser window. The image’s height will be 100% of the display’s height. It's best to pick an image that has its subject on the left hand side so it doesn't get hidden by the login form on narrower displays. Also, keep in mind that the page's background is white.

You do not have to set custom images on the login page if you don't want to. If no left side image is set, no picture will be displayed, and the login form will be center aligned. If no small image is set, no image will be displayed above the login form.

Inheritance

If a child account is created beneath an OEM-enabled account, the child will be flagged an an OEM account. If you go to the Edit Account page in the child you will see that the Customer Is OEM box will be checked.

The Login URL and login page images will not be inherited from the parent. Since these settings are de-coupled from the account, they only need to be defined in a single account in the system. As long as the login URL and login page images are defined in the parent, the images will be displayed on the login page regardless of which account you plan to log in to.

The Header Image URL will not be inherited. The child account will display the header image set in the parent account. You can override the parent image if you want. If you define an image in the child account, it will be displayed when you are in the child. It will only be seen in this one child account.

Help Center Link

At this point, the Help Center link, seen in Customer Care > Customer Support is not controlled by the OEM settings in Edit Account. To hide this menu item, please speak to DevOps.
