Version 17.00 - January 13, 2022

17.00.00 - 01/13/2022

Version 17.00.00 is the first release of the new year. This release includes code clean up to remove invalid integrations and invalid api commands, new features to allow defining an S3 bucket to upload scheduled reports and the ability to update content in the middle of a publishing campaign. Additionally, several various bugs are fixed.

New Features

  • S3 Destination Manager

The ability to upload reports generated through the Schedule Report wizards already existed, first to FTP and then to an S3 bucket. However, while a user could define and reuse an FTP destination, the S3 bucket had to be redefined every time a new report was scheduled. The S3 Manager is similar to the FTP Manager, allowing a user to define one or more S3 destinations. These predefined destinations can then be easily selected in the Schedule Report wizards. In addition to the new feature, the following are affected: Schedule Campaign Report final page, Schedule Event Report final page, Schedule Custom Report final page, Schedule Domain Report final page, Schedule Subscriber/Contact Export final page.

  •  Re-pull Content During Publishing

When a user discovers a subject line or content error during a deployment, the only option to fix it is to cancel the campaign, fix the content, then launch a new campaign.  A new feature available in Current Tasks allows users with Admin or greater permissions to Pause a campaign, make changes to the content, and then Resume the campaign with the option to use the original content or use the updated content. If the content is updated (including Subject Line), the Current Tasks page displays a note in the task Description, Campaign Search page will display any updated Subject line, and Campaign Details will display updated Subject Line and indicate the timestamp of the update under the Template/Format header. Pages affected: Current Tasks, Campaign Search, Campaign Details.

  • Recovery Campaigns

Recovery campaigns allow users to define triggers to send customers a targeted message based on site cart or browse activity.  Using recovery campaigns requires significant setup outside of the platform before Campaign triggers can be defined. The feature must be enabled in Realm Products and will not be visible to customers immediately upon release.

Improvements

  • Deprecate Social Network Sharing links in Content, Publishing to a Social Site, Video sharing in Content

Due to changes in integrations from providers, features allowing posting to social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Digg, Google+) and tracking the results, publishing directly to social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), and the ability to upload and share videos and track the video interaction have been removed. Updates may be noticed in deploy wizard, reporting wizards, campaign summary pages, and api calls.  Related Learning Center articles are removed or updated as needed.
An alternative to Social Network links in content is described in the Learning Center: Social Share Links

  • Deprecate HTTP API rpt_subscriber_events, rpt_tracked_events_by_campaign, rpt_tracked_events

In order to improve performance, the commands were deprecated in 2018 replaced by new commands which report each tracking type individually. Users of the old commands were informed of the change, directed to the new versions, and able to successfully integrate the new commands.  The final step to deprecate the original commands was not completed at the time to allow for users to complete their conversions. The original commands will now throw an ‘Unrecognized Command’ error if used. The current version of each command can be found below:

Bugs

  • UI: Redirect any deprecated page (no longer available) to current Dashboard
  • Rest API: Create Template throws a null point exception but template is created
  • Lists: Reports tab missing data
  • Current Tasks: Remove Est. Compl. value column
  • Contact Details: Manual Unsubscribe Details not displaying correctly
